First, a qualified pest specialist should always come to do a complete inspection. But in the meantime, here are some things to remember. First, by nature termites hide their damage so that they avoid predators - so their damage is very difficult (and at times impossible) to find without dismantling things. So at first, look for mud tubes. If you are able to find their damage, don't mistake it for carpenter ants or "dry rot" like many people do.
